what would happen if tna wrestling and the wwe had a crossover

Julian cannon back for another post and I would like to say im happy meeting everyone for the first time at the annual BBQ. Now to give my thoughts on a topic that has been going on since 2006.

This was going to originally be a post about 7 of the best TNA wrestlers vs 7 of the best WWE wrestlers but things got changed after a news report came out a few weeks ago.

So the story is that Carter,

who has visited the UK to promote TNA’s 2014 British tour, said that she enjoys the rivalry with WWE, arguing that it benefits both companies and – most importantly – the fans. She also told the Digital Spy magazine that “I don’t think [the WWE] shares my belief in this, but I believe that competition is 100% positively essential,
I think it’s important for fans and for us. To have one company dominate, a) it’s boring, and b) you are not being challenged enough. It’s always better to have other options out there and I truly believe it makes both companies better.”

When asked if she would ever be open to the idea of WWE and TNA stars appearing together in shows, she said: “I absolutely would do that. I’m not sure if they would do that, but I absolutely would.”

There you go. I personally think Vince McMahon was laughing too hard at this but we will never know. Here is my reaction and why I think that this can be either a good idea or bad idea.

THE GOOD

This will get their name and brand out there really quick on a nationwide basis. It happened to ECW in 1997 so I guess it can happen with them too so I can be up for it depending on how everything will be planned out. The audience will also see some wrestlers that they have seen before or never ever seen until that event happens. The crossover will be good for business and will gain the mainstream publicity for both WWE and TNA. You can hear the kids and teenagers and fans reaction and most of them will say things like “did you see those TNA guys jumped the guardrail last night on raw, that was really epic and im watching TNA impact on Thursday to see what the hell is going to happen next”. There you go, it takes one move for the entire wrestling fanbase to start talking for the week or even the month. its that simple. WWE will let TNA showcase their talent and WWE’s viewer numbers will go up. everyone wins. This was the same response when ECW first stepped foot in a WWE ring and the fans responded pretty well. The result of that was ECW and WWE had a talent exchange for a short time and we got to see guys like Rob Van Dam, Sabu, The eliminators and more would show up on raw in the months of 1997, and ecw would get WWE guys like Jerry lawler, Jake Roberts, Sunny, Justin credible and more.

THE BAD

The moment you have TNA originals (not ex WWE employees) like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, James Storm, and Austin Aries step in front of that crowd in a large stadium, at least 3 of them would want to think of jumping ship to the Big leagues..That noise from the WWE crowd is on the same level as the SuperBowl or the World series and everyone wants a piece of it. Also, how will this event be booked? Will they let the TNA wrestlers showcase their talent like having AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe on Monday night raw or smackdown? Or having them go against the WWE roster. I can tell you that once you see AJStyles go against John Cena, we know who will win because Vince McMahon is not going to let the face of the “Worldwide indy promotion” beat the face of the WWE. Its no way that’s happening in a million years. Another reason why this should never happen is because of the IWC(internet wrestling community) or the classic “smarks” term. They would not be happy if they see a TNA guy loose to this WWE guy and vice-versa. We will see angry fans on Youtube just complaining and whining over nothing as usual. Now lets say we have about 6 TNA guys in different matches with the WWE guys. I can bet you that out of 6, only one will win and the fans will take this as “oh wow WWE brought these TNA guys in just to bury them” and blah blah blah. Think of the outcry we will get after 11:05pm. My last reason is because there is too many guys in the back that will clash over with the creative. on WWE’s side its Vince McMahon, Johnny Ace and Triple H. on TNA’s side, there is Dixie Carter, Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff. We will get a huge ego tripping week and we all know how Hulk Hogan is backstage with his politics “brother”

In the end I would want this to happen but you would really think how should it happen. WWE and TNA (and Ring of Honor if you want to count it) are the biggest Wrestling promotions in the united states and whatever TNA does, WWE does not ever consider them a competitor. Its just fact because WWE scores at least 3.1-3.8 in TV raitings a week and TNA has not scored over 1.8 within the last 8 months. Its just rocket science that’s all
