Fans Can Soon Create an All New Transformer in “Fan Built Combiner Poll”

 

Pawtucket, R.I. (January 26, 2015) —TRANSFOMERS fans around the world are invited to help create a new character for the popular TRANSFORMERS brand — but not just any character. Following on the heels of the 30th anniversary “Fan Built Bot” poll, which led to the fan-assisted creation of the popular AUTOBOT character, WINDBLADE, Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) is launching the new “Fan Built Combiner” poll. This crowd sourcing project seeks fan input to create a new team of TRANSFORMERS robots that combine into one giant new character in celebration of the theme of the 2015 TRANSFORMERS GENERATIONS line: COMBINER WARS!

Starting today, the official TRANSFORMERS brand app (formerly the official TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION app) will be updated and fans will be able to log-in and answer a round of questions to help shape the identity of the new Combiner characters. The Fan Built Combiner poll will allow fans to determine everything from the types of vehicles involved, to whether the characters will be AUTOBOTS or DECEPTICONS, and eventually the name of the new character.

Voting for each round will be open for one week, after which the results will be announced and a new round of voting will begin the following week, with three total rounds of questions in all. Additionally, the world’s leading dedicated toy retailer, Toys“R”Us, will host a “bonus” question on its Twitter channel (@Toysrus) on February 18, allowing its followers and fans to join the conversation and vote on the Combiner’s special power. A full reveal of the new Fan Built Combiner is expected later this year, with the character available as a toy in 2016.

“The first ‘Fan Built Bot’ effort was massive, resulting in the creation of WINDBLADE, who has her own widely popular comic series from IDW Publishing and toy product,” said Tom Warner, senior vice president of the TRANSFORMERS franchise at Hasbro. “With this year’s TRANSFORMERS GENERATIONS: COMBINER WARS line celebrating the venerable COMBINER characters from throughout TRANSFORMERS history, this is the perfect time to let fans help create something even bigger than a new TRANSFORMERS character — a Combiner team that will become part of TRANSFORMERS lore.”

Transformers Fans Can Pay What They Want For The Ultimate Transformers Digital Comic Collection While Also Supporting A Child-Focused Charity

San Francisco & San Diego, Calif. – July 23, 2014 – Here’s a bundle that’s “more than meets the eye.” Humble Bundle and award-winning publisher IDW Publishing, under license from Hasbro, are kicking off San Diego Comic-Con with a digital comic collection of epic proportions. Customers can name their price for Transformers Classics, Volumes 1-4, featuring a digital reincarnation of 48 issues from the original comics. Those who pay more than the average price will also receive Transformers: All Hail Megatron, Vol. 1-4, Transformers: Autocracy and Transformers: Spotlight, Vol. 1. Customers who pay $15 or more will receive all of the above, plus Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye, Vol. 1 and 2 and Transformers: Robots in Disguise, Vol. 1 and 2, bringing a total of nearly 100 comic book issues to the bundle.

DVD Review: Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising

So thanks to Shout Factory, we received an advance DVD review of Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising the movie. We, here at Alternative Mindz, have been huge supporters of the Prime series on Hub channel so we were especially excited when this showed up on our doorstep. This DVD release is supposed to bridge the gap of the series and help tie up any loose ends.

(Below we will slightly spoil events of the series and movie)

The movie takes place on a barren wasteland once known as Cybertron.
Optimus Prime, with fellow Autobots Arcee, Wheel Jack, Bulk Head, Ultra Mahmud and Bumble Bee (who got his voice box back), are trying to restore Cybertron and bring home all refugees.

Optimus and Wheel Jack set out to find the AllSpark, leaving Ultra Magnus and the rest to search out Cybertron for any survivors. In their search, they find Predaking, the once mighty leader of the Predacons.

He is in no mood after his defeat on Earth. We soon find that Starscream and Shockwave are cloning remains of fallen Predacons.

This film has everything you need and everything you love about the Prime series. I don’t want to spoil too much, but a great evil returns and, in a weird way, is an homage to the 1986 TF film.

I give Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Movie a 4.5/5 and everyone needs to buy this film when it comes out.

This amazing DVD has a behind the scenes featurette and is available on Blu Ray tomorrow.
